Welcome

Welcome to the new website for Studies in the Linguistic Sciences: Illinois Working Papers! We are proud to announce the re-launch of Studies in the Linguistic Sciences, the working papers of the Linguistics Department at Illinois, which has been published as our departmental journal since 1971.

I join the new editorial board, the Linguistics Department faculty, and the Linguistics Student Organization in inviting submissions for the 2009 volume. Please note that at the current time, we are only inviting submissions from faculty and students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Please see the 'submissions' tab, above, for details on how to submit your article.

Major advantages of the new Working Papers format include universal, free, online access to your work and the ability to include electronic content in any format as an appendix to your article. Please consult the stylesheet and example document before submitting.

Matt Garley, Editor

Proceedings for ILLS 1: LOL

Studies in the Linguistic Sciences plans to publish proceedings from the first Illinois Language and Linguistics Society. Please see the submissions guidelines for information on submitting your paper. The deadline for inclusion in this special collection is Monday, August 31, 2009. Please note that while no hard page limit exists, we prefer that submissions for this special issue be kept to under 15 pages due to considerations of the review process.

Updates: SLS LaTeX package, Books for Review

Thanks to the efforts of Benjamin Slade, SLS now provides a LaTeX package for formatting and preparation of PDF submissions to SLS. Please see the 'Submissions' tab above for further details. In addition, the list of Books for Review has been updated. Please have a look and consider completing a review for SLS!
