Pronunciation Notes

This letter represents the implosive consonant [gg], and is a sound that is not present in English, nor is it found in any other European or South Asian language. It is formed in the mouth in the same way as a regular [g] sound, but is made with a sucking-in gesture. See SCRIPT BASICS: PRONUNCIATION TIPS FOR IMPLOSIVES for more information.
