Pronunciation Notes

This letter represents the consonant [r], which is pronounced as a short flapped sound like the "tt" in a typical fast or casual pronunciation of American English "butter". This sound is also similar to the (non-trilled) [r] sound that is used in Spanish words like "cara" 'dear'.
