International Scholar Participation Grant

The organizers of the 9th Conference on Laboratory Phonology (LabPhon 9) are pleased to announce the availability of one or two small grants to partially support the participation of international scholars from economically disadvantaged countries in LabPhon 9. These grants are intended to cover registration and (partial) travel expenses. To qualify, applicants must be affiliated with an institution from an academically underrepresented country and document insufficient support from their home institution. Preference will be given to applicants who submitted an abstract which has been accepted for oral or poster presentation at LabPhon 9. Applicants who will not be presenting a paper should justify the relevance of the conference to their professional development. Selection will be on the basis of economic need and potential contribution to the conference.

Applicants should send an email letter of interest to the LabPhon 9 organizers at labphon9@uiuc.edu no later than March 1.
